Grandchildren, aahh!!!!!

Have had my two gorgeous grandaughters staying with us for 10 days, and they're going home tomorrow. We shall be really sad and I shall shed some tears. It's been hectic, done something everyday and this afternoon we're off to cinema to see G Force 3. I was wondering if I could take my book and a little torch so I could have a read but have been barred from that. I've warned them that if I start snoring they must wake me up!

Took them to one of the many childrens art activities taking part at Craft Den over the summer hols, and they made these beautiful cards. Here are a couple of pics showing them hard at work and the finished cards. Here's Lucie who is 8

and Charlotte who is 6. I think they did extremely well, particularly with the cutting out and sticking the tape on and positioning. Thanks Lynne, they really had a wonderful time and can't wait to come again.

85th Birthday Card

What sort of card do you make for an 85 year old man????? Struggled with this one, then thought, he still loves a good party, still manages to enjoy a little drink, in fact he's famous for his G & T's, 3 parts gin to 1 part tonic! Both my aunt and uncle (whose birthday it is) are still full of fun and manage to get out to party. In fact they have better social life than I do, something wrong there I think. He'll see the fun and irony this card. The image is from Artchix Studio

Great Workshop at Crafty Individuals

Went to a Crafty Individuals Workshop yesterday and made this absolutely fabby memory frame. I adore it and had a brilliant day with all the lovely ladies. Jane is so laid back and she had put out sooooo many goodies and embellishments out for us all to try, I was spoilt for choice. Can't wait for her next worksop, thanks Jean had a fantastic day.

Craft Den is going to stock all the goodies we used, so contact Lynne for more info.

Beeswax

Had to make an anniversary card today, so thought I'd have a go with beeswax.....here's the result.

It's the first time I've used beeswax and I'm not sure whether I've done it properly. It doesn't show up very well on this photo, looks better in the flesh so to speak. The background is distress inks, stamped with various text and T!m Holtz stamps, made the flower out of card and coloured with distress inks, stamp over with text. I stamped 'congratulations' onto the ribbon before attaching it to the card.

Paper Artsy meets Copics....again.....

Just loved these fantastic stamps from Paper Artsy and Lynne at Craft Den asked me if I could do something with them and here's the result. My husband very kindly designed and cut out of greyboard the house shapes, and for once the air wasn't blue when he was doing something! I used Crowns & Castles and Bricks & Mortar stamps, their new set of papers and coloured in with Copics (still practising!) all available from Craft Den. I used some of the Ten Second Studio metal and tools to make some of the roofs and key which I got from LB Crafts, again still practicing, but have booked to go on their weekend in October, getting so excited and still months to go - how ever will I cope until October. I also put in an acetate page and decorated it with some flowers cut out from the papers and black flowers from my stash. Used plenty of Glossy Accents, Crackle Accents and dew drops.
