Sunday Stampers Challenge 104
The theme this week over on Sunday Stampers Challenge is Ripped or Torn. I decided to make a tag, background is usual DI's, tore some book pages and coloured with DI's to make flowers, added press studs for flower middles, hand stitched stems, added a shrunk plastic butterfly, metal corner piece, raffia bow.

Circle Art Journal
I am part of the Circle Art Journal which was started by the inspirational and talented Dyan at Art from the Heart and here is one of the spreads I have just finished in one of the journals.
It is partly digital in that I managed to put the bugs in the specimen bottles before I printed them out, a first for me. It's very daunting to do a spread in someone else's journal because you never feel as though your effort is good enough, still I'm quite pleased with the result.

Alcohol Inks
A friend of mine is starting a fabulous new job next Monday, she's going to be one of those people, like on Silent Witness, that goes to investigate sudden/suspicious deaths, how cool is that? She's already been on a course to make sure she can hack it....not everyone can look at dead bodies, but she is a really talented girl and I know she will make a success of it. Here's the card I've made for her...
The background is DI's, stamped the Invoke stamp onto white card, then used various colours of alcohol inks onto acetate, the sentiment is also an Invoke stamp. Background stamps are all T!m's.

Sunday Stampers Challenge 103
The theme for this week on the SSC is to use RED. Here's my entry
I decided to do a canvas for a change. I'd already gessoed it some time ago, used acrylic paints for background, mainly Claudine Hellmutt and Ranger, added some crackle paint, stamped some images, the cage is the new T!m Holtz Sissix die, which I cut out in greyboard, then triple embossed with Blonde Moments fresh red, I then sanded it down to distress it a bit. The bird is from the same die, covered with TSS black, put through a Cuttle Bug folder, then sanded down. Added some lace to bottom, fastners, bit of chain and a pin to finish off. All ingredients used available from Craft Den.

Sunday Stamper Challenge Week 102
Here's my entry for the SSC 102 - we are golden. The chipboard piece is one of T!m's Alterations as are the heart and wings. I coloured the background with DI's, but what a dope I am, I forgot to stamp the background, put it down to the meds I'm on, then edged with gold acrylic dabber. The wings are coloured with the same acrylic gold, the heart is TSS studio pink metal (couldn't find the red, which I really wanted to use), butterfly is a Wendy Vecchi stamped onto grunge paper. The sentiment is computer generated and coloured with vintage photo. All ingredients used are from Craft Den.

WOYWW 49
We've been at our daughters for a few days and should by rights still be there, but the best laid plans etc. First of all I've not been too well whilst I've been there, then on Saturday one of her dogs, Bonnie, a beautiful black lab, couldn't stand up and there seemed to be a problem with her back legs and by Sunday she was in obvious pain, so an emergency trip to the vets, x-rays, tests, etc. and then told that they thought it would be best to put her to sleep if she was no better on Monday. Monday came and a phone call from the vet to say she had made a miraculous recovery and was walking now. She's now back at home, having to be very quiet, on pain killers and hopefully will continue to recover, together with a bill for £500!
I went into Colchester to seek out a shop which Hels mentioned and picked up these fabby boxes from there. Can't wait to decorate them.
On Tuesday lunchtime we had some lovely French bread and as I bit into it, we heard a crack and guess what, I have broken one of my front teeth, horror of horrors, it just broke off by the gum. Straight on phone to dentist, receptionist said if I could get there for 11.30 this morning it could be fixed. Got up early, did the journey in 3 hours only to be told by Bruno, my dentist, that he was going on a course this afternoon, so didn't have time to fix it and was so busy will not be able to fix it until a week next Monday. So that means that I've got a gaping hole, it looks terrible. Anyway, there was a message from consultant on ansaphone, plus a letter in post to say that I'd go to contact him as a matter of urgency. Turns out my liver function is at dangerous levels, so had to hot foot it down to hospital this afternoon for tests etc. Now just got to wait for results when he rings me tomorrow, but that explains why I've not been feeling too well again.
I showed Charlotte, my granddaughter who is 7, how to zentangle, and this is what she did, all her own work. I think she's done a great job. I told her that I'd put it on my blog and she's going to log on tonight to see it, so she will be thrilled, bless, aren't grandchildren precious.
Don't think I'll get round everyone tonight on WOYWW, but will tomorrow.

Other half's birthday card
It's Maurice's birthday in a few days and as we're off to our daughters for a visit, and to see our granddaughters, yeah, I thought I'd better get the card done as I need to take it with me. I think mens cards are always the most difficult ones to make.
I decided to get the melt pot out and have a play with beeswax. I printed off a page of the old Times which I posted a few days ago and inked with DI tea dye. I then put a layer of beeswax over the top, stamped the hand onto tissue paper, put it in the beeswax then onto background, did the same with the sealed with a fish stamp and a Crafty Individual image. Stamped and triple embossed a T!m clock, added hands, a cherish metal tag and 4 brads which I hammered with T!m's hammer. The sentiment was computer generated and again popped into beeswax and applied to background. Enjoyed messing around but took ages to clean up all the beeswax, but on the plus side, my cuticles and nails are in good condition now, lol. Right the competition is.........how old is my husband?

Bye Bye April
Here's my completed 365 Art Journal Page, I'm not pleased with it, I think the painted flowers are too dark, but it took so long to paint them that I had lost the will to live, so they had to stay. I'm trying to do each month differently and May is totally different.
Just got to work out how to put it on flicker now.
