Pan Pastel Journal Page

What a horrible, wet, cold and windy day, finished the ironing and decided to do a bit of journaling.  This is the first page I've done in my newly acquired old ledger, which was given to me by a very generous friend, unfortunately she doesn't have a blog, but I know she does look occasionally, so a very big thanks.

Did the base with various colours of Pan Pastels, I put some of the pan pastels through Dylusion's new stencils, I think the image is from Tumble Fish Studio, but can't be certain, did lots of doodling, and as you can see still trying to get some half decent handwriting.  I've just been told about an on line class for handwriting, so going to check it out.

This is dedicated to all you beautiful people out there who leave me such wonderful, encouraging comments, thank you so much.

April's Art Journal Class

Had a lovely day (as usual) at AFTH yesterday attending the regulars art journal class with the magnificent Dy.  We used Golden Heavenly Body acrylic paints as the background and our mission was to hand write 'I am an artist', then doodle.  Well I hate my handwriting and I wrote in capitals, big mistake.  However, I'm going to work on this piece and I'm going to practice fancy handwriting.  I bought a book on handwriting a couple of years ago, so got it off the shelf, dusted it down and am going to have a go tonight whilst watching The Voice.  Even overtaken The Apprentice as my fav programme now.  Good piece in my paper today, the journalist is calling the teams on the Apprentice, Team Nitwit and Team Numpty, brilliant, they are so useless this year.

Anyway here's the page

The page isn't finished, got to add a couple of images etc. The Golden acrylics really are fantastic paints, something else to buy, but did limit myself to 4 colours yesterday, but no doubt will be buying more.

Below is an ATC I made for a swap, I used the new Ranger stamping paper, which I think is fabulous and coloured the butterflies in with Distress Markers.

Hope you're all having a nice, sunny weekend.

Ladies Who Lunch Play Day - April

Well I managed to finish the project on the actual Play Day, now that's a first for me!  Moira set the theme which was to alter a canvas/canvases in the T!m Holtz style.

I'm afraid the photo's not very good, took it with my iPad and it must have moved.

I'm off to see a  very dear friend this afternoon, we've known each other for around 48 years and she is the Godmother to my son.  Unfortunately she's in hospital and is terminally ill, so just hope she's a bit brighter today.  I made this card which hopefully will cheer her up.

I decided not to put a message on the front, I've written inside what I want to say.

It's very cold and dismal here in Sheffield, so hope you're all having a good weekend.

Ladies Who Lunch Play Day

It should have been our monthly play day today, but being Good Friday, we decided to hold it next Tuesday instead, when we are going to alter some canvases.  This reminded me that I hadn't blogged the last project which was Metal Houses on a painted canvas, based on a creation of Ellen Vargo, which we all loved so much, we decided to have a go.  Take a look at Ellens blog, she does some wonderful stuff.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter.

Welcome to April

Well still managing to keep up on time this year, can't believe it. Well only keeping up with the 365 Art Journal organised by the fabulous Mrs C, take a look here to see what I'm talking about.  Still got lots of other things only half done or not even started.  I've had an excuse though because we've just had a fabulous time at our daughters in Essex, got to spend some brilliant time with my granddaughters, plus lots of hugs and kisses.  Then went onto Hampstead to stay a few days with friends of ours and we had a lovely day last Wednesday at Kew.  It was so hot and sunny, I had to buy a sun hat in the Kew shop, so you can imagine how much that cost, lol.

April ready to go

March finished

When I now look at April's I see the blocks are not on straight, must be something wrong with my brain because it looked alright when I was doing it.  Anyway, as usual, Dylusion paints, sprays and stencils. Stamps are Stampotique by Jo Capper-Sandon and 7 Gypsies.
