Ladies Who Lunch Play Day - April

Well I managed to finish the project on the actual Play Day, now that's a first for me!  Moira set the theme which was to alter a canvas/canvases in the T!m Holtz style.

I'm afraid the photo's not very good, took it with my iPad and it must have moved.

I'm off to see a  very dear friend this afternoon, we've known each other for around 48 years and she is the Godmother to my son.  Unfortunately she's in hospital and is terminally ill, so just hope she's a bit brighter today.  I made this card which hopefully will cheer her up.

I decided not to put a message on the front, I've written inside what I want to say.

It's very cold and dismal here in Sheffield, so hope you're all having a good weekend.

Ladies Who Lunch Play Day

It should have been our monthly play day today, but being Good Friday, we decided to hold it next Tuesday instead, when we are going to alter some canvases.  This reminded me that I hadn't blogged the last project which was Metal Houses on a painted canvas, based on a creation of Ellen Vargo, which we all loved so much, we decided to have a go.  Take a look at Ellens blog, she does some wonderful stuff.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter.

Welcome to April

Well still managing to keep up on time this year, can't believe it. Well only keeping up with the 365 Art Journal organised by the fabulous Mrs C, take a look here to see what I'm talking about.  Still got lots of other things only half done or not even started.  I've had an excuse though because we've just had a fabulous time at our daughters in Essex, got to spend some brilliant time with my granddaughters, plus lots of hugs and kisses.  Then went onto Hampstead to stay a few days with friends of ours and we had a lovely day last Wednesday at Kew.  It was so hot and sunny, I had to buy a sun hat in the Kew shop, so you can imagine how much that cost, lol.

April ready to go

March finished

When I now look at April's I see the blocks are not on straight, must be something wrong with my brain because it looked alright when I was doing it.  Anyway, as usual, Dylusion paints, sprays and stencils. Stamps are Stampotique by Jo Capper-Sandon and 7 Gypsies.

Thank You Card

I had to make a thank you card for a friend and used some of Rangers new Stamping Paper, well I think it's very expensive and wasn't going to buy any but did well......it is fantastic. I absolutely love it.  I stamped the butterflies onto the paper and coloured them in with the new distress markers.

My friend really liked it and hope you do too.

Art Journaling

Spent a lovely relaxing day at AFTH yesterday.  It was the regular art journalers class and there were 5 new ladies who had never done journaling before....what a treat they were in for.  Dy led them through the whole process, very gently and they all created some fabulous pages in their brand new journals.  The rest of us decided to do the same theme which was the construction of a page, boy, I'd forgotten half Dy had taught us years ago.

Dy's having a preview day of her up and coming workshops next Saturday 17 March, so if you're in the area I recommend you go along and see all the lovely creativity going on there, plus all the goodies in the shop.

I've Been Dinad?

Just spent a brilliant three days at AFTH taking a workshop with the fabulous Dina Wakley.  I wasn't booked to go on this workshop, but my very good friend, my bestist friend, my gorgeous friend (enough with the grovelling) Christine, is ill and was unable to go, so guess who she gave her place to.....moi and boy am I grateful.  I've been on one of Dina's workshops before and if you get the chance, please go, you'll not regret it.  Here are some pics of what we did, mine isn't finished yet, still more to do

Front of book

We painted, texture pasted, inked, stamped on tissue paper, stencilled, stuck, glued until we were exhausted, but boy did we laugh.

If you want to know more about what we did take a look at my friend Sandy Poppins blog, her drawings are brilliant, and you'll see a picture of me with one of Lady Dy's headscarves on, can't  remember why she put it on me, but everyone thought it suited me, can't see it myself, lol.

I've had a bit of a bad back for a few weeks, and although I did manage over the weekend, on Sunday night I was in agony.  Been to doctors this morning and I've pulled a muscle, what a bummer, still keep calm and carry on as they say.
